ISSCA began with a bold vision:

To democratize regenerative medicine and create a global family of forward-thinking physicians dedicated to transforming the future of healthcare.

The journey started in 2010, when Benito Novas registered what was then known as Stem Cell Training Incorporated — a small initiative born from the belief that regenerative medicine should not be restricted by borders, privilege, or bureaucracy. What began as a handful of passionate physicians sharing ideas and protocols soon became an international movement.

In 2015, the organization evolved into what we know today as the International Society for Stem Cell Application (ISSCA) — a name that reflects its mission to unite physicians, researchers, and innovators from around the world under one purpose: to make stem cell science accessible, ethical, and practical.

From the first classroom workshops to packed international congresses, ISSCA's growth has been a story of perseverance and vision. From the hands-on fellowships in Cancún, to the groundbreaking certifications in Dubai, and the expanding network of programs throughout Indonesia, ISSCA has built a legacy of education and empowerment that now spans 30+ countries.

What started as an underdog idea — that any committed physician could learn, master, and apply regenerative medicine — has grown into a global society that has trained 12,000+ physicians across 30+ countries since 2009.
